The prime minister has authorized the governments of HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An and Ba Ria-Vung Tau to develop the Ring Road No. 4 project.
The Government Office on September 29 released a dispatch in which the prime minister approved the Transport Ministry’s proposal to appoint these localities as authorized agencies for the construction of the ring road project.

The Ba Ria-Vung Tau government will act as an authorized agency to implement the Phu My-Bau Can section with a length of some 18 kilometers, while Dong Nai will be in charge of the 45-kilometer-long Bau Can-Thu Bien Bridge section.
The government of Binh Duong Province was assigned to develop the Thu Bien Bridge-Saigon River section, which will have a length of some 49 kilometers, while HCMC is responsible for the Saigon River-Thay Cai Canal section stretching 17 kilometers.
The Long An government was tasked with the Thay Cai Canal-Hiep Phuoc section, with a length of 71 kilometers, the local media reported.
The prime minister asked the governments of the five localities to develop the component projects in line with prevailing regulations.
The Ring Road No. 4 project, which is set to connect five localities–HCMC, Binh Duong, Long An, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau–will be 199 kilometers long and have six to eight lanes.
